Lovely place but beware - this summer (2018) there is problem with a parasite that lives in the water and will cause your skin to itch and come up in red rash like itchy bumps all over. The city of Vrchlabí just had the water tested and it indeed confirmed this parasite is on the site. So enjoy the facilities but don't go swimming. Fairly local alternative is the dam on river Elbe in Špindlerův Mlýn. The water appears green but apparently this in not from toxic algae that might also be a problem on some sites. Generally this summer as its been hot and dry lot of swimming places suffer from this so always check with locals where it is okay to swim!
